The utility tab contains powerful custom workflow options for use within Unreal Engine.

The Utility Tab inside the In-Editor Toolkit contains customized utilizes to help workflows within Unreal Engine.

Schedule a Lightbuild

This utility allows for scheduling a lightbuild to occur at a designated time within 24hours.

Save the project prior to scheduling a lightbuild. Not doing so will result in Unreal asking you to do so before the lightbuild itself starts at the targeted time.

Usage

Use this utility to target an ideal lightbuild time. For example, after work when Swarm will be most efficient.

Flatten Hierarchy

This utilities flattens the World Outliner hierarchy while preserving each objects world location.

Usage

Use this utility to clean up an extensively dirty outliner. Best paired with Clean Empty Actors.

Clean Empty Actors

This utility cleans any actors within a scene that doesn't have any children.

Usage

Use this utility to clean up any empty actors within the scene. For example, Datasmith imports can introduce a multitude of empty actors which are used as world position offsets.

Confirm Overridden Materials

This utility confirms and pushes the selected Static Mesh Actors overridden materials to the base Static Mesh Components material slots.

A highly requested feature

Usage

This utility is very effective in saving time via allowing quick material customization of a singular static mesh within the world, then pushing the changes to the rest of the static mesh actors using those materials.
